Cardanol from Vietnam for industrial applications
Cardanol is the distilled phenolic fraction of CNSL. It is a raw material for downstream chemical production; finished resin or coating performance depends on the formulation and processing conditions. Commercial grades can differ in colour, composition and physical properties.
Applications
- Raw material for phenalkamine and other epoxy curing-agent systems.
- Phenolic resins, coatings and varnishes.
- Friction materials and selected polymer modifiers.
- Selected fuel-blending applications following customer evaluation and approval.
Indicative properties from the DPB TDS
- Density at 15°C: 0.94 g/cm³, typical reference value.
- Kinematic viscosity at 40°C: 5–30 mm²/s (cSt), indicative range.
- Acid value: < 6 mg KOH/g, indicative value.
Source: DPB Cardanol TDS, TDS-DPB-CARDANOL-01, July 2026. These published TDS values are for initial assessment; they are not results for the lot currently offered. Final acceptance is based on the agreed specification and shipment COA. Colour, cardanol content, moisture, ash, metals and gel time can be reviewed against the intended application. Dynamic viscosity in cP and kinematic viscosity in cSt must be compared on the correct basis.
Packing, handling and supply
Packing may include ISO tanks, IBCs, flexitanks or bulk shipment, depending on the product grade, viscosity, route and carrier acceptance. Loading quantity, export gateway and delivery schedule are confirmed in the quotation or contract. Follow the current SDS for storage, handling and transport.
